The beginning of October marks the time when European Car enthusiasts make the trip out to Big Bear Lake and have a weekend full of cars, beers, meets, and other fun events. This event has been going on for a few years and has become one of the coolest meets/shows for the west coast Euro enthusiasts.
The weather and scenery are perfect for a car event. It's perfect since the weather is cold, around 40 degrees at night and 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit in day. It beats the extreme heat from other shows in the summer and creates a less exhausting trip. The tall pine trees and beautiful lake create a scene similar to Worthersee, the biggest VW/Audi show that all enthusiasts dream of attending.
With that being said, the show was cancelled this year. Many people were sad about this but some people decided to keep the spirit alive on VwVortex. There was enough interest to keep it alive this year and a small G2G was planned! It turned out to be a fun weekend filled with beer, good times and some nice cars. The weekend was laid back and left all enthusiasts open to find good spots for shoots and to enjoy the city.
The morning meet in the Village parking lot kicked off Saturday and people began to slowly fill the lot. We usually try to get more shots in of the meet but we were up late and woke up with a bad hangover and got to the meet pretty late.
The next photos were captured at the Vintage Lakeside Inn, where a number of us were staying for the weekend. The Vintage was a great Inn with delicious free breakfast and parking in front of your room and no one to regulate after hours. Partying all night was definitely something people did here.
The Next photographs were captured during the simplylow x workingclass meet on Saturday at Swim Beach. It was a kick back meet with music playing, people relaxing in lawn chairs, people throw footballs and Frisbees, and enjoying the elegant lake views. We ended up returning to the same location the next day to shoot some cars.
Gaston from the EuroJerks arrived up to show off his scooter tricks.

This next car is from an owner who winged it and rolled out to Big Bear Lake from Santa Barbara without having a place to stay or knowing anyone. He rolled to the Vintage Lakeside Inn and stopped by to have a few drinks with us and we offered him a couch for the night. Seemed like a big European car enthusiast who was not afraid to drive solo to OccupyBigBear
We had a blast during OcuupyBigBear and hope to attend Oktoberfest again next year! Since we were in Big Bear, it's tradition to give your best Big Bear impression, so ill leave you with some of the best ones!
Not sure what they're doing but could be a Big Bear!
