Coverage: Avila Motoring Invitational 2012
July 21st 2012 marked the first annual Avila Motoring Invitational in Avila Beach, California. Nestled in the central coast, people gathered on the greens of the Avila Beach Golf Resort to talk about cars, life and fitment. Nothing but quality showed up and we were impressed with the different makes and models that attended.
The weather was perfect. 70 degrees throughout the day and just a bit of overcast early in the morning. The event began at 2pm and ended at 7pm, but many people arrived early for the car show roll in. This was a welcomed change from the early morning car shows most are used to. The early afternoon start was a well chosen time that set the mood for a relaxing Show N Shine.
The event was presented by Stanceworks and hosted by Accuair. Accuair showcased a handful of quality cars with air ride. Both handed out awards at the end of the day for the cars they believed deserved them. The show was sponsored by VIP Modular Wheels, Lowly Gentleman, and Rotiform. Each showcased new products for the public to view.
While this show was new. Everyone seemed to know each other and felt more like a gathering of friends. If you didn't know somebody, it would be easy to strike a conversation with a fellow motorist.
People brought easy ups, lawn chairs and some even brought a grill, to relax and enjoy the show. The Avila Beach pier was also across the street in case you wanted to check out the ocean. The location was perfect for a show like this.We actually rolled in a day before to enjoy what the central coast had to offer.
As we rolled into the show Saturday morning, we we impressed with the variety of cars. There were Volksagen, BMW, Audi, Honda, Lexus, Nissan, Mercedes, and Toyata to name some of the makes of the cars. There were dailly drivers and full on show cars in attendance. It seemed as if there was something for everyone.
As the day ended and awards were handed out, we were sad to see the show end. We had such a great time relaxing and looking at cars that we lost track of time. We were satisfied with the turnout of the event and we can't wait til the next Avila Motoring Invitational.
