Redlands, California. This city was known as "The City of Millionaires" in the 1900s, but is now known as "The City of Beautiful Homes." The scenery is beautiful and creates a small town feel, even though it's a big city. Redlands was the "Washington Navel Orange Growing Capital of the World" for most of it's history. So what brings us to the outer edges of southern California? Gagah aka Peter Tamba's MK6 Jetta Sportwagen.

The beginning of October marks the time when European Car enthusiasts make the trip out to Big Bear Lake and have a weekend full of cars, beers, meets, and other fun events. This event has been going on for a few years and has become one of the coolest meets/shows for the west coast Euro enthusiasts.

This past Sunday marked the day of the 4th annual Motorunion car show at the Green Flash Brewery in San Diego, California. It was a great venue to host this event since the brewery provided fresh, cold beers for the attendants as well as a place to find shade and relax. The brewery even provided a special Motorunion beer for the event!
This past July 27 2013, a number of car enthusiasts showed up at Don the Beachcomber in Huntington Beach for a laid back car show. It consisted of clean, lowered cars that ranged from MK2 GTIs to the new FT86 FRS/BRZ. I forgot my camera since I was in a rush but Manny managed to snap a few shots. Hopefully next time I wont forget my camera.

Irvin samples off his clean MKVI GTI randomly before the Riverside Volkswagen meet. Randy decided to meet up at my house before the meet and brought Irvin along as well. While we had no plans to shoot his car, we decided to snag some quick shots of his clean daily driver. We had a nice drive through downtown Riverside and parked his car in front of a courthouse for a 15 minute shoot.

June 8th 2013 marked the date of the annual VW Classic car show and swap meet at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, California. It was my first time attending even though I've been planning on going for some years now. This is a huge show for all the air-cooled enthusiasts in California and neighboring states. Even though the majority of vehicles attending were air-cooled Volkswagens and Porsches, a few water-cooled cars managed to sneak in. The huge lot at the Verizon Amphitheater provided tons of space for the car show, vendors, swap meet, and attendees.

Southern California is a huge center for the import scene, but when is come to the Volkswagen/Audi scene, there's not much going on. There's just not as many Volkswagen/Audi enthusiasts as there are any other enthusiasts. Maybe this is why there are few Euro shows in southern California. Oktoberfest was cancelled for this year, leaving only Big SocalEuro, Fastivus, Dubfest and Wuste (which is in Las Vegas).
